A private reserve · the founding story

LOLELUNGA PRIVATE RESERVE

a wilderness given the rare chance to heal

Welcome to a place where wilderness meets wonder

Experience the exhilarating freedom of Africa in the remote seclusion of northern Zambia, 30km north of Kafue National Park.

Witness the magnificent sight of the recently reintroduced cheetahs in the wild, spot the Sitatunga, a unique Zambian antelope, and explore the wonders of the Lunga River's clear waters where spotted-neck river otters frolic, crocodiles and monitor lizards bask, hippos nap and elephants splash. Spend a night under the stars on the Ngoma Deck and set your own pace for each day at this private reserve.

Lolelunga Private Reserve

The Lodge

Welcome to a place where wilderness meets wonder

Lolelunga does not ask you to become anything, it simply allows you to return. To a quieter pace, a deeper presence, a more instinctive way of being. Here, the shift is not dramatic, but certain, felt in moments, in stillness, in the spaces in between.

Here moments are personal, and nature is infinite… a sanctuary crafted for you

Endless beauty

Thirty thousand hectares held for one small camp. The reserve is the amenity — the forest, the swamp, the plain and thirteen kilometres of clear river.

Woven textures and natural light in the Lolelunga guest area

Intimately yours

It is the rhythm of this place that carries you — the slow arc of the sun, the hum of cicadas, the gentle pull of the river as it moves without urgency. Nothing asks this of you, and yet everything invites it.

The Lunga River defines our rhythms and the life of our lodge

We did not tame this land. We listened to it.

Our low-impact lodges sit lightly in prime game-viewing country, where conservation is not a feature but the foundation. Days are paced to the rhythm of nature — the slow arc of the sun, the hum of cicadas, the pull of the river as it moves without urgency.

The Ngoma Deck sits alone above the river. Book it for a private dinner, or stay the night in a bed made up beneath the stars with nothing between you and the sky.
